I like how it bleeds. To me, it's not about flowers or leaves; it's about blobs of color; the color bleeds and grows; beyond the borders of flowers or leaves; it strikes me as a composition about color and area.

Sometimes I can find a whole orchard that is in bloom like this... but so far just the tree in my yard. and it is a gorgeous sight.

Thank you so much! I spent some time on it... and I love that lens with it's shallow dof and the intensity with which it renders color. Who would have thought that there would be a difference...but there is.

Just a beautiful soft focus.

Thanks so much. the focus (soft) was mostly due to the lens I used. It's a 50 mm that goes to 1.4 and I try to use it that way just because I love the shallow dof.

I adore your work and couldn't help but think of you when I saw this photo on my computer screen. since I've no idea how you accomplish yours.. well.. I thought I'd do a bit that looked a tiny bit like one of your.

I'm particularly fond of your animals. they always make me feel like snuggling.
